Welcome to Sahali Montessori Preschool/K, a preschool committed to providing children with authentic Montessori education! Our Sahali campus was opened in 2008 by the same administration that established Kamloops Montessori Preschool - founder of Montessori preschool/K program in the city!
We are located in the charming and picturesque neighborhood of Upper Sahali, within the compounds of McGowan Park Elementary School. Our bright, spacious and carefully prepared classroom is beaming with possibilities for children to discover as they are offered to experience and enjoy materials and activities in the areas of practical life, sensorial, mathematics, language and culture. It is an environment where independence is encouraged and love for learning about the world within a culture of peace is fostered.
Adding to its indoor charm is an exciting outdoors of sprawling field, clear pond and rows of greenery which is home to a number of land, air and water species. We frequent the adventure playground as well as the nearby water park. There is definitely a place to explore and things to do for all seasons! The world is never big enough to satisfy their senses and thirst for learning.
All these, and the established Montessori philosophy that we carry presents vast opportunities for learning and growth of preschool and kindergarten aged children.
Our Sahali campus offers two preschool/K programs. Our morning class starts from 8:30-11:00 am while our afternoon class is from12:00-2:30pm. We also offer early arrival, lunch and after school programs.
In our early arrival program, parents may drop off their child anytime from 8:00am. The lunch program is from 11:00am-12:00 noon.
We also offer an after school program for school aged children (5-12 years old) that runs from 2:30pm-5:00pm.
After school children spends their afternoon doing organize arts and crafts, indoor and outdoor playtime, fieldtrips and given assistance with homework.

Teachers
Dasha Soth
Dasha comes to us form North Vancouver, where she has been a Montessori Preschool/Kindergarten and Music teacher for over 10 years. Prior to her years in the 3-6 classroom, Dasha had taught in the elementary level for four years. In addition to her ECE and Montessori Teaching Diploma, Dasha holds a Master's degree in Music and Russian Language. Dasha has moved to Kamloops with her husband and two sons and is very happy to have joined the Sahali Montessori School in the position as Directress.
Jonalee C. Bandoquillo
Jonalee, who is fondly called Joy, came to us directly from the Philippines in September 2009. Joy graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education Major in Teaching the Early Grades (K-2) from the University of the Philippines. She tops the licensure examinations given to thousands of aspiring teachers all over the country in 2007. Before coming to Canada, she is on her 2nd year of graduate school taking Masters in Education Major in Reading Education. In November of 2009, she completed her Montessori Foundations Level 1 Certificate at The Western Montessori Teachers College in Langley, British Columbia. She also took some ECE courses in TRU. She is passionate about her work with children spanning 5 years of experience. She is delighted and grateful to be part of this pool of experienced and well-trained Montessori educators who are committed to advance the best education for preschool children.
